Sometimes when the phone rings, the first question that a potential client asks is our fees for a case.
Now, I understand that people have a budget. But let’s be real for a second. If you are worried about staying in the US, it’s kind of a big deal. And if you are going to look for the bargain of a lifetime, you may want to apply that perspective to shopping for shoes (or maybe you would just go with Zappos because of how good their service is as well).
But when it comes to things like, “I need to get my green card,” or “my loved one is facing deportation,” you might want to actually meet with the people in whose hands you will place someone’s life. You might want to talk with them, learn about their experience and credentials and strategies.
Today all three lawyers here went to different cities and had successful outcomes for our clients. Not one of them said, “hey, how about that price you quoted me.”
By the way, I think we’re pretty reasonable with “what we charge.”
