They all want to know.
I have been listening to this question for 18 years.
“What Percentage of Immigration Cases Do You Win?”
So I finally sat down and did my best to figure it out.
In the citizenship realm, we have successfully handled nearly all of our cases.
Same goes for green cards.
Matters such as Deferred Action and Prosecutorial Discretion applications are at around 97-98%.
For Deportation Defense – including clients in custody – we have prevailed on well over 90%
Work Visa applications? I cannot recall the last time we filed one that was not approved.
So where are the numbers lower?
Asylum is tougher. When I started out in the mid 90s, almost nine out of ten of the asylum requests in the US Immigration Courts were denied. Fast forward to the current era and about half of the requests are winners nationwide.
In our office we do significantly better.
In Waivers, we do very well. Over 90%. The numbers are similar for Appeals.
One thing to take into consideration: Our firm is very careful about the cases we choose.
Many people come in with hopes that we can help them.
However, if I analyze the data presented by certain potential clients and determine that their chances are poor, I will tell them up front.
Immigrants are often exploited by people who take advantage of their lack of understanding of law.
We go the opposite route and educate our clients.
My team spends a great deal of time reviewing cases to see if there are alternative solutions to the most obvious applications which might fail. These options might have better outcomes.
Bottom line: We Do Not Lose Very Often.
